RE: 65mph means 65

Where in the world did you ever get the idea that the tires are rated for 65mph! I have never heard of it and doubt it is true ... (snip)
... If you can back it up with facts that would be fine.
Under normal inflation ST tires are limited to 65 mph.
It has been printed on the side of the ST tires I have owned ...
What would you consider "proof" ?

It's back in stock at walmart.com:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10174466
You can have it shipped to your home for only 97 cents ! ... I used the 97 cent shipping and it arrived in less than a week. Sure beats paying for the gasoline to pick it up at the store!

RE: WeatherTech Floor Mats for 08 Chevy 2500HD Duramax Diesel

We are interested in some floor mats from Weathertech for our tow vehicle. I spoke with a rep from WeatherTech and he said they would not fit on the passenger side due to the space configuration with the Duramax diesel/Allison transmission. Does anyone have the same TV and have these floor mats? Are you happy with their fit?Odd ... I have a '08 2500HD D/A Crew Cab 4x4 and the weathertech mats I bought fit like a glove in the front. The rear fit is not as custom but it is OK too.
Update: I just checked the mats and they are stamped with the part number 44066/00091 on the front left and 44066/00090 on the front right. I see on the weathertech.com site that is says it will not fit with an allison transmission. I bought mine from a reseller that did not give that warning and I did not know it's not supposed to fit... but it does ... I can photograph it for you if you like ...

RE: Going from 15" wheels to 16"

We have a 2006 Cougar 290 EFS. I have been wanting to do this upgrade ever since the fiver was purchased new. Is it a pretty safe bet that I could go with the same wheels and tires? (225/75/16)
I think so ... That was the closest 16" size to the original 15" ones on my 2008 Cougar 292RKS.

RE: pet stains

"Blue Magic" carpet stain and spot lifter works for us. It can be found in the automotive section at Walmart. We have five Tibetian Terriers so we know a little something about carpet stains. Bissell offers a Pet Stain and Odor remover also.
Another vote for "Blue Magic" from WalMart auto section ...

RE: winter tow

Going to leave michigan christmas day to Florida. Right now there is at least 10 inches of snow on the roof . Do I need to get that off, or just let the snow fly while towing?
UPS actually advertises that they leave the snow on their trucks:

RE: Going from 15" wheels to 16"

I just did the tire size calculator. If it is correct, I will only be able to go with 225/75/16 instead of 235/85/16. Let me get this right, am I worried about the radius, or diameter. If I go by radius, which is from the center, it would only be about 2 more inches. Some of you edumycated guys chime in. I guess I have too much common sense to figure this one out. I might be too much beer already!
On my Cougar 292RKS I had to go with the LT225/75R16 instead of the LT235/85R16. The tire shop actually mounted a LT235/85R16 on my wheel to try it out but under dynamic loads it would have contacted the plastic fender skirts in my case. Some owners have used the LT235/85R16 successfully. I suspect that the clearances vary among trailer models.
I found that the LT225/75/16 was the closest match to my stock size of ST235/75R15. It would have been nice to use the LT235/85R16 instead because it offered more weight capacity, but it would not fit under my fender skirts due to it's increased diameter AND width ... You can click on the links in my signature for photos of the new tires and wheels.

RE: LCD FLAT SCREEN TV

What about all those new RV's in the dealer's lots in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, etc in sub freezing weather? I picked my Cougar up from a lot in Michigan ... just a week earlier there was snow everywhere ... sub freezing ... and all the trailers I went into (at least a dozen) had their LCD TV's installed ... I bet they were delivered from the factory that way (probably over routes that are sub freezing) ...

RE: Going from 15" wheels to 16"

My wife and I have been in a small motorhome that suffered blowouts (twice) and luckily were not injured.
After that happens, it's much easier to accept the added expense of better tires and a TPMS ... :E

RE: Going from 15" wheels to 16"

I did ... The radius of my existing 15" spare is only 1/2" less than my replacement 16" tires ... The equalizer will handle that small difference in an emergency, temporary condition IMO.
I'm sure someone will differ in opinion tho ...
